PedX® – strange name - how come?
First envisioned as a drill for footballers to work on their weaker foot, Ped – for feet and X for cross-training. But in-play, it delivers so much more! PedX® has been developed by qualified football coaches and players with over 40 years’ professional experience.
How big is PedX®?
The playing surface is 6m x 11m and the surrounding glass walls with metal mesh finish extend to a height of 3m high. A central demountable net divides the court in two and goals are marked up at each end for Street Football play. 5.5m high floodlights complete the match experience.
What services are required to install PedX®?
Nearby drainage and an electrical supply that will be identified from the initial site survey.
What are the rules for playing?
No Rules! However, we can provide a variety of different training plans with and without the net suitable for 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 players to gain maximum benefit from PedX® as Volley Football® or Street Football.
Does PedX® need planning permission?
For indoor locations – no, but for outdoors - generally, yes.
How long does it take to install?
This varies according to an indoors or outdoors location with groundworks, but up to 4 weeks for delivery from order and approx. 6 weeks for installation, subject to groundworks and planning where required.
What about quality and aftercare?
Our installation contractor is fully insured and a member of SAPCA (Sports & Play Construction Association). All glass/metal components are easily cleaned with soapy water. Only the playing surface is subject to eventual wear and tear, like any other sports surface, and can be replaced.
How can I purchase PedX®?
Just call us! We will provide you with costs and agree a date for our team to undertake a site survey to assess location options with you, access for the build, drainage and proximity of electrical supply for lighting.
